Pure Broking MFA Setup Guide

We are rolling out Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

As part of our ongoing investment in cyber security and our broking solutions, we are excited to announce that SSP is rolling out Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) to SSP users for all SSP hosted applications.

What is Multi-Factor Authentication?

Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is an advanced authentication technique that requires two or more methods of proving a user’s identity in order to access resources or secure information.  There are several benefits to using MFA:

  • It adds extra layers of security to your accounts, enabling you to have complete control over who has access to your information / sensitive data - by using MFA, you will have greater peace of mind knowing your account is well-protected.
  • Secures remote working - cybercriminals frequently attempt to intercept and gain access to a system when an employee is working remotely. MFA helps confirm user identity by looking at a variety of information such as location, device type, behaviour and more.
  • Meets regulatory compliance - when it comes to adhering to industry standards, the use of multi-factor authentication is becoming increasingly recognised as a key risk management tool in the fight against cyber-crime and its general adoption is something to be encouraged (Source: Juliet Williams, BIBA area manager. • Additionally, MFA has been made a requirement by many cyber insurance providers in order to obtain coverage.

How to set up Multi-Factor Authentication

Enabling MFA on your account is straightforward.  We have included a short video (see above) and a guide to help you set up the authenticator and register your device on your smartphone and PC. We strongly recommend that you enable MFA on your account as soon as possible to ensure the highest level of security for your business.

Don’t forget, along with implementing MFA, it’s important to practice good password hygiene by creating unique and strong passwords for each of your accounts. Strong passwords and MFA provide the most robust combination to keeping all of your data safe and sound.
